When the government calls your model a security risk, the contract suddenly matters
What jumps out to me isn’t the “Anthropic loses” part. It’s that this is really a fight about who gets to decide what a model is allowed to do once it’s inside government systems. That sounds abstract until you notice the court treating Claude’s built-in restrictions as part of the problem. For a company that sells safety controls as a feature, that’s a pretty awkward place to be. I’m also not fully convinced the legal framing is as clean as the majority makes it sound.
